Hace algunas semanas comenté que estaba atareada preparando más cosas para la venta en mi Etsy

Este collage pertenece a uno de mis Art Journals ( no es una transferencia con papel de camiseta ) Realmente tiene un estilo shabby chic.
Lleva una cita de Henry Van Dick que dice :" Alégrate de la vida porque ella te da la oportunidad de amar, de trabajar,de jugar y de amar a las estrellas. "

Telas de patch y seda. Puntillas , madroños y flores de raso.
En su interior guarda un secreto: flores de lavanda que desprende un suave olor cuando está cerca de tí.

Precioso collage original con toques musicales. Las tapas están alteradas . Es un cuaderno con 192 pag. en blanco de la marca francesas Claire Fointane.
Utilicé partitura antigua, tela de gasa con lentejuelas ,papel de scrap , flor en tela recortada y puntilla de cristal . Todo ello repasado con pespunte a máquina y con un fondo pintado y estampado.

Most people think of Palm Beach when they think of a Florida getaway but those who are serious about horses live in Wellington and Kelly Klein is no different. Her Wellington home was featured in the May 2007 issue of Elle Decor and is yet another example of her clean and chic style. Of course, just like in her New York apartment photographs of horses and beautiful books are prominently displayed. It's also light and airy and uncluttered. Must be nice!

All the talk about Kelly Klein's new book Horse had me thinking about her homes. Kelly is one of the most effortlessly chic women in New York so it is no surprise that her decor is also effortlessly chic. Her Upper West Side New York apartment was featured in the October 2008 issue of Town & Country magazine and was originally an artist's studio. Now, it's filled with art by Francesco Clemente and photos by Steven Klein and others. Doesn't that firewood make you want to curl up in front of a cozy fire?!

Kelly designed the sofas and Belgian linen slipcovers above while the brown leather chairs are by Ruhlmann.

In the bedroom, a Chinese chest sits between chairs bought at Aspara Interiors in East Hampton. Too bad we probably won't have time to stop there while we are at our installation in Sagaponack!

Steven Klein's famous horse photos line the hallway. Robert Burke also has similar photos in his apartment.

There is nothing I love more than peeking at someone else's bookshelves! You can tell a lot about a person from what they read. I personally hide all the potentially embarrassing books under my bed!

The very minimal dining room includes chairs by Joseph Hoffman, a custom concrete table, a Cellula chandelier from Moss and a painting by Eric Freeman.

I love the Olatz linens in the master bedroom and the sweet little elephant on the night table. Kelly just welcomed a baby into the home and his room below is also chic and simple.

I apologize if I haven't responded to an your email or comment but I have been dealing with a nasty computer virus since Friday. The one that redirects your Google searches. Not fun. I am also leaving today for an installation in The Hamptons. I have uploaded some posts so hopefully you will have something to read while I am away. And if anyone has any suggestions for my computer, please let me know. If not, I guess a trip to the Apple store will be on my agenda this weekend.

Operación : un hogar más agradable

Ya estoy aquí con ese ambiente otoñal que va impregnando mi hogar.
Este año me he propuesto un reto : hacer una guirnalda al estilo de Minna. Esta mujer hace unos trabajos preciosos y sigo su blog con entusiasmo . No tiene que ver con labores, pero sí con una de mis pasiones desde que era niña , las flores, el jardín, la decoración floral.....

Este es el resultado.

Rescaté la pantalla de mimbre que alguien iba a tirar al contedor y ....¡ voila ! ahora sirve de centro con esos marrones tan típicos de ésta época. El resto de las cosas las he ido adquiriendo con el tiempo.

El libro es de los principales y más bonitos jardines franceses. Es bastante grande y las fotos son muy escogidas. Me gustó ésta para entonar el rincón.

Los corazones los hice el otoño pasado. Quizá alguna lo recuerde. Aquí los he rescatado para colocarlos en los cajones y la llave del aparador.

Y nunca mejor dicho " la joya de la corona "

En una floristería de la ciudad compré la corona de espuma verde que me recubrieron de cinta de plástico verde.

Recogí hojas del parque junto a mi casa y la cubrí sujetándola con horquillas de moño que sustituían a los ganchitos profesionales y aleatoriamente fui colocando flores de hortensia y otras secas que compré en la misma tienda.

Algo de rafia y unos toques con rodajas de limones que sequé en el horno.

Con un cuchillo fino corté rodajas de manzanas , limones y naranjas. Tal cual las coloqué dos horas a 70 grados en horno y luego un poquito con la temperatura a 125. Daba gusto entrar a la cocina y oler esos aromas. Fue mi primera experiencia , algunos quemadillas y otras pegadas por ser muy finas. He aprendido la lección. Quizá un poquito menos de horno y quedarán más naturales la próxima vez.

El otoño ha llegado algo más tarde este año, al menos a mí me lo parece así. Ya he visto luces de navidad en Madrid y dentro de nada nos están borbandeando con posibles regalos en los anuncios de la televisión. De momento espero vivir más la estación con las colchas de patch que llevo en danza.... y no encontrarme de sopetón con el final de año.

I found this chic closet while looking through concept images at work. I have no idea where it's from so if anyone knows, please do tell. I love it when people decorate private spaces like closets and bathrooms. It's like a little secret. Also looks like something Hollister and Porter might do someday...if they haven't already!

UPDATE: Thanks to my savvy readers, we've figured out that the home belongs to Belgian minimalist architect Vincent Van Duysen which is funny because it doesn't look like the closet of a minimalist or maybe the rest is minimal since he hides all his art in the closet!

Starting today, the Charlotte Moss Townhouse will prepare for it's November 25th closing by offering 50% off antiques and 70% off new pieces. Perfect timing for the holidays although, I will be sad to see them close. It's such a beautiful store! I just hope it doesn't become something depressing now like a BabyGap!

Sara Story's room at the Kips Bay Designer Show House this year was one of my favorites and I felt an immediate affinity for her after reading her 1stdibs Style Compass interview since so many of her answers mirrored my own. I was checking out her website recently and noticed some new photos in her portfolio and thought you might enjoy them too. I also love peaking at her client's art collections and I'm very jealous of whoever owns all of those works by Elizabeth Peyton!
