Mi tienda en marcha

En mi habitación de costura se están preparando cosas para abrir de nuevo mi tienda , ya sabes, hechas a mano con mucho cariño , cuidando cada detalle ........piezas únicas al estilo de lo que soléis ver en este blog y utilizando en algunos casos elementos antiguos .

Esta vez mucho lino , tonos cremas, rojos y blancos...........

¿ Hay algo que te gustaría ver en mi tienda " hand made " ? ¿ Quizá algo con lo que te quedaste con ganas y alguien se lo llevó antes ?

Esta es tu oportunidad de dar ideas mientras las telas, cintas, puntillas, botones y máquina de coser están en marcha......

Lo que ves en la foto es una muestra de lo que estoy utilizando........

Ojo , para las que no lo sepan, sólo vendo productos confeccionados ........ nada de mercería.

The weather in New York has just turned cool enough to start wearing fall clothes but the runway at fashion week is all about spring. One of my favorite shows from Day 2 was Jason Wu. He's the darling of the fashion world and by the look of this collection, rightly so. I love the tailored shorts and trousers as well as his signature pretty dresses. Jason has also created a line of shoes and handbags that complete the look. He said he "looked to the seventies and forties, and the vivid floral paintings of the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes" for inspiration which inspired the bright colors and patterns. I'm so glad we have these gorgeous clothes to look forward to after the upcoming winter!

Yesterday was the first day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at the new Lincoln Center location and it could not have been more exciting! The new venue is much larger than the tents at Bryant Park and much more elegant. One of the most fashionable rooms this year is the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge. It's where the beautiful people and VIP's get to hang out and sip champagne between shows. Carlos Mota, stylist, floral designer, and party planner extraordinaire, collaborated on the space with supermodel Iman and her new IMAN Home designs. The Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge has the exclusive first look at her fabrics and collection that will debut later this month. "I am excited to partner with Mercedes-Benz on this project," said Iman. "We have worked tirelessly in preparation for the launch of IMAN Home and to have this forum, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, is a great way to unveil the collection."

I was lucky enough to attend the press preview and can tell you that the room is spectacular. Carlos said it was a dream to work with Iman and "it is great to be working with a team so attentive to design and quality." It was too crowded to take my own photos but you can get an overall look at the room here.

I especially loved the peacock fabric on the screens that were placed in the corners of the room. Iman said the designs were inspired by international locals and traditional, yet modern crafts to bring a beautiful blend of cultural richness to the fabrics.

IMAN Home will be available at Calico Corners and other select retailers and I can already tell it will be a hit. Now I just need to figure out how I can get invited to hang out in the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge again!
