AND NOW ABOUT THE PROMISED VIDEO !

I am sure that a lot you, my readers and blogfriends, will remember the images on below, seen in Veranda, a few years ago.

They are all of the gorgeous house of our Belgian couturier Edouard Vermeulen. His fashion label is called Natan.

The house is called the “Rozenhout” estate. It is an 18th century country house, or “gentilhommière, situated in a glorious parkland.

In close collaboration with the Belgian architect Raymond Rombouts, the original house was improved and a pavilion added.

Edouard Vermeulen - himself an interior designer before he made his name in the world of haute couture – took care of the interior decoration : a timeless and subtle color palette, in the same spirit of his exclusive collections.

This morning I watched the beautiful video of the house tour on a local TV station and I really wanted to share it with you!

It is a Dutch spoken video but you really don’t need to understand the Dutch language to enjoy this vido.

So, sit down, relax, click on the image below, open your computer on full screen and ENJOY !

I wish you all a fantastic Autumn weekend !!!

The outbuilding in our garden

Following my previous post about orangeries, and because some of my readers were interested in the evolution of the outbuilding we started to build the previous year, I decided to give you a glimpse into our garden. I have to say that we started to the garden landscaping in october the passed year, so we (especially my skilful husband!) had done a lot of work the previous weeks and we have to do a lot of work in the coming weeks!!

Honestly, I was planning to show you some pictures of the building within a few weeks, when I would have been ready with the finishing touch of the decoration, but because of the demand of my readers, I couldn’t resist to post a few pictures of how it looks at this moment.

I promise you to post more pictures within a few weeks where you also will see the evolution in our garden.

For those of you who haven’t read my earlier posts about our outbuilding, you can go to see it here, here and here.

Maybe you will remember these pictures of last summer.

1

The start in July 2009 !

3  My husband is preparing the roof , ready to be thatched.

4

The thatching is going on (September 2009).

5

The outbuilding as it is today.

8 The planters will need a beautiful tree, maybe an old olive tree??

2Do you remember the oak table that Jan made for me?

14

Here she is!!!

The oak is beautifuly weathered, because the table has wintered outside.

16 An old sink of Belgian bluestone.

7

Within a few weeks when the weather is better, I will put the cushions in the chairs (show you pictures of it later).

15

For the lanterns I was inspired by…

21 …this image I found at Côte Maison,

And for the wicker chairs I was inspired by…

this image in Veranda.

The following pictures are all of the gardening we did the passed weeks.

9 You see that everywhere we have to put flowers and plants now!!

13

12

This very old boxwood plant was coming over last week from my mother’s garden! I hope this old lady (?) will enjoy living with us now!

19 The hydrangeas and the oleander are ready for summer!

18

And this last picture I posted especially for my neighbours Marie-Jeanne and Serge, who are helping us wherever they can with some good advice to gardening! This is their horse, named Carol, and she is grazing in the grazing land next to our home!

She is my favorite!!!

Well my friends , if you are wondering why there maybe are lacking a few posts of me in the coming weeks… you will understand… I will be gardening!!!!

Outbuilding is floored

A few weeks ago I told you about the outbuilding in our garden. And I showed you pictures of the building-up (here) and the thatched roof (here).

Yesterday my husband was finishing the floor!
What do you think about it?

This was the start in June this year.

Roof is thatched !

A few days ago I showed you some images of our outbuilding , just before placing the roof.
Well, today the thatched roof is finished.

Do you like it?
So as now we have to start flooring, a couple of days ago, my husband and I went to the supplier of beautiful recuperation stone.
The blue stone we have chosen has a french origine! He's very beautiful and.... heavy as you can see on the image here below!

My husband and the supplier.

The stone is yet delivered and you can see him in front of the outbuilding.
So up to the following images of the placed floor ( I think that it won't be that soon...) !
