Where the Boys Are

I thought I'd post some chic men's fashions today as well so my male readers don't feel left out.  Fashion editors and buyers were in Florence last week for the Pitti Uomo menswear shows and Tommy Ton was on hand to catch the best dressed some of whom were women!  Ciao!

Ode to Wicker

This wicker Hermes Kelly bag looks just right.

I'd like to carry it while wearing a Fendi dress in white.

Tina Turner could drive me around in her Fiat Jolly that surely goes zoom.

At the end of the day, we could hang out in this chic lattice room.

The End.

Go Green

Big thanks to my friend Sarah at Rice and Beans Vintage for alerting me to the fact that Stella McCartney was also feeling green.   Her 2011 pre-fall collection is full of emerald green mixed with navy and even gray.  Maybe Pantone should call me before they choose their color for 2012!  Green is definitely good!

The End of an Era

I was a little shocked to hear this morning that Carine Roitfeld, the editor in chief of French Vogue, will leave the magazine at the end of January.  She's started her career as a model and later stylist for Tom Ford among others.  She's been with French Vogue for ten years and says she has nothing else planned yet.  She will definitely be missed at the fashion shows since she has such amazing personal style.  I especially love that her skirt hems hover around the knee instead of the thigh like many fashionistas.  I've also never seen anyone look chicer in a jacket.  For a fun look inside her world, check out the Carine Roitfeld Revealed video on CNN.  Bonne Chance Carine!

Don't Call it a Comeback

Those who were not lucky enough to be invited to the presentation of Tom Ford's spring 2011 women's collection can finally see what we missed thanks to Vogue.  The ensembles were presented by a coterie of Mr. Ford's friends who included models, singers, actresses and others.  Their ages, 22-67, and body types varied from bootylicious Beyonce to lithe Lauren Hutton.  That was the first clue that these will be  wearable "real clothes for real women."

“I want this to be somewhere a woman knows she can go when she wants a great jacket—not a fake expensive jacket, something that has intrinsic value. I don’t think fashion has to change every five minutes. I’d like these to be clothes you can wear for a long time—ten, 20 years; pass on to your daughter. Why buy vintage when you can open your own closet!”

According to Vogue, "his collection will be small and exclusive, and sold only in his sixteen menswear stores, until next season."  The men's stores are so chic, that I don't think that will be a problem.  I also hope that he hasn't given up making movies now that he's back to creating fashion.  How about A Single Woman this time?
